We stayed at the Llama Farm in the Llama loft for 4 nights at the end of a NZ/Australia trip.

We found out about it from the Lonely Planet guide and booked it over the internet after looking at the website www.alyeska.com.au

We thought it would be somewhere a little different and it sure was. Advertised as an idyllic retreat with spectacular views - it certainly was, and so very peaceful. The Llama loft is a perfect secluded romantic retreat with lots of comfort and luxuries. Lovely comfortable bed, satellite TV, DVD but you wont need them, CD player, lounge area, kitchen area and lots more - you can see Llamas from the bed you can see Llamas from the kitchen sink and the scenery is fantastic - to die for. You can walk for miles on the 120 acres coming across not only Llamas but sheep and cows. Making friends with the Llamas is good fun as they really are friendly and we got to stroke quite a few. Everything people said about them is just not true no biting, kicking or spitting - well they do spit at each other this is to do with hierarchy though.

Liz and Bruce the owners were very lovely, friendly and helpful, they also have the Llama Lodge which is a lovely cottage. Its just a perfect getaway - I didn't want to leave.

While staying here we looked around Apollo Bay and Lorne and also drove further along the Great Ocean road to see The Twelve Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge and the Cape Otway light station all fantastic and well worth visiting. We also drove to Otway Fly tree tops walk which is a man made walkway up in the trees, and Beauchamp waterfalls. There are also lots of lovely beaches along the great Ocean road but beware of big spiders in the beach toilets if you are near Tea Trees!!
