The Name

Alyeska is a mountain and an oil pipeline company in Alaska.  Bruce, an engineer, was part of the pipeline design team in the 1970's.

The Property

Alyeska is 120 acres of steep hilly grazing land in the Otway Ranges hinterland overlooking the coastal resort town of Apollo Bay and beyond across Bass Strait, Victoria.

The Ambience

Blackwood and Blue Gums line the surrounding valleys from Paradise to the tip of Killala.  Birdlife is plentiful and a wallaby temporarily blocks your trail.  A sea mist settles in the valleys and sometimes blocks the sun on the way home from the fishing holes in the West Barham river that flanks Alyeska's western boundary.

The Farm

Grazing is the primary role.  Some 300 Perondale sheep, about 30 Angus cattle are the support activities to key tenants which are the Llamas of Alyeska.

The Location

Victoria's famous Great Ocean Road leads you to Apollo Bay some 2½ hours drive from Melbourne.  For Alyeska address and details please click on the attached map.
